The Hon’ble Minister for Information and Communications congratulated the Space Engineers studying at Kyutech, Japan, for developing the CubeSat BHUTAN-1. BHUTAN-1 marks Bhutan’s first step towards development of Bhutan’s Space Science and Technology Program, which is a vision of His Majesty the King.
The Department of Information Technology and Telecom (DITT), Ministry of Information and Communications is mandated to drive innovation; development and adoption of ICT across the RGOB and promote ICT Industry development.
The Department of Information Technology & Telecom (DITT), Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with Bhutan ICT and Training Association (BICTTA) is currently organising 3rd Bhutan International ICT and Training Event (BIITTE) with theme “Promoting Techno-Entrepreneurship for Digital Economy”. BIITTE is an annual event which provides opportunities for local ICT industry players to explore possible areas of collaboration with potential investors and established a network for the business tie up.
In continuation with data hub workshop DITT has organised on 22nd May 2018 with domestic IT vendors, Department of Information Technology and Telecom have decided to provide additional training on Datahub platform as requested during the workshop. The training will be provided for two days to enhance the competency of domestic IT vendors.
The ICT implementation in the Royal Government continues to gain maturity and also the complexity is increasing by the year. The expectations on ICT and the responsibilities of ICT professionals have correspondingly increased both in depth and coverage. This situation calls for specialized skills in varied areas and high level of professionalism.
In light of this, 14 ICT Officials from various agencies attended training in PHP&MySQL, and global certification (Oracle) in MySQL database administrator from 4 - 15 June 2018 at Noble Prog, Delhi, India.
The Director General gave briefing to 14 ICT Officials from various agencies who are going to attend PHP & MySQL training & Certification Course. The Director mainly emphasized on importance of building professionalism and skill sets of the ICT official that will be the fundamental requirement in implementing 12 Five Year Plan.

International girls in ICT day was celebrated on 23rd April this year.
Due to the pandemic situation, the department conducted the event online wherein participants were asked to use our social medial frame/filter created for the event.
They were asked to write how ICT impacts their lives.
Top 6 were selected as winners from around 46 participants and were awarded the prize.
